There are many people who, when talking about Soviet topics, feel the need to disassociate themselves from communism or how the police interacted in Soviet society. I am not going to do this. I think it is disrespectful of the reality and complications of the situation.
I also find this mentality inappropriately asymmetric, especially when everyone feels they must say they are not against the police when supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
I know there were many horrible things done in the name of communism. I know there were many issues with Soviet society. I also know this applies almost everywhere else.
